Most
of the pains come from a wrong working position resulting
from the use of the mouse : shoulders not parallel, muscles
under pressure, a bent back, broken wrest…
A lack of ergonomy at your working
desk means a lack of respect for your wrest and for your
superior limbs..
Trying to find a better position,
most of the people do adopt positions which are even more
unhealthy.
The manufacturers of peripheral
equipment are aware of the potential risks. That’s
the reason why this kind of warning is mentioned on
the packing of keyboards, mouses or computer game
handles.
All these pains are characteristic of a sickness known
in the professional world under the name of the syndrom
of carpal canal or the ‘syndrom of the mouse’.
The handling of a mouse became essential
to use a computer.
This one requires a tiny force but
the generated posture
(tended arm, muscles under tension, shoulders nonparallel)
involve many nuisances.
Scientifically recognised, its
symptoms are the following :
Burning
sensation, stiffness, numbness in
the hand,
Pain that shoots from
the hand up the arm as far as the shoulder and neck,
Weakness
of the hand or the arm.
Several levels are noticed
:
The symptoms begin to be feel
when using the mouse,
Then, after
work, in the evening or week-ends,
Finally, it
becomes chronical, persistently on the long term.
